I have found often times, it??to be kind of difficult to do this visualization because I kind of know??what I want, but not exactly. This video I found on??www.YouTube.com was very interesting because it offered an alternative approach that can help if you feel you are a bit stagnant and don’t really know what you want. It??shows a different angle you can take to look at your goals. Instead of visualizing yourself as a wealthy individual, ask yourself, “Why is abundance attracted to me?”

For the past week and a half I have been having knee problems that are progressively getting worse. This probably the first time I’ve decided not to work out because of my knees. I’ve been on my computer for about an hour looking at exercises I could do that wouldn’t really require the use of my knees, but I realized there’s probably something more important to do, align my body first.
A few months ago I read Egoscue’s Method to Health Through Motion, written by Peter Egoscue. It was a physical therapy book that talked about joint alignment and how it is pivotal to have correct alignment in order to avoid injuries. This book says that I have a knee problem because I have misalignment in my hips and I have misalignment in my hips because of my shoulders. Nice. Egoscue goes on to say that the only way to permanenting solve this problem, get it at its source, is to align the shoulders and then ultimately realign your hips.
??The crazy thing is that he said it could take months for real results to pop up. This has got me a little worried and frustrated because that means I’ll be out of commission for a very long time and the worst nightmare of any athlete is to lose their athleticism. To try and solve this problem, I’m going to try and come up with ways to exercise and keep my fitness, while also allowing my knees to rehabilitate and come back into proper alignment. I’ve scoped the internet and found some interesting stretches and exercises and I’m going to begin to outline a training program for myself.
I also plan to talk to my Personal Training professor about this today after class, so before you know it I’ll be posting information on knee pain and rehabilitation. I’ve known many people who have suffered tremendously from knee injury and many can’t participate in their sport like they used to; the second worse nightmare for every athlete.
Within the next few weeks, like I said, I will be compiling any and all information on knee injury and methods and strategies to correct the problem at its source. So stay tuned for that because the information will prove to be invaluable, especially if you are correctly having knee problems or you have??a history.

The other day I was listening to this marketing tele-seminar called Guru Mastermind. I was giving this audio file my partially full attention because I hoped to indulge myself with a plethora of marketing knowledge and experience. Interestingly enough I learned more about life than I did marketing and how it really came down to having a good life actually means having good marketing, if you want. The catch that adds the twist and shouts to this new life lesson was having a good life no matter what kind of life you lead???mindset!????
Well, as the two gentlemen were talking, they were discussing their lives in the past and what got them to where they were now, which was sitting on the beach in California watching a beautiful sunset, as told by Frank Kern. Eben Pagan, the gentleman being interviewed, was asked by Frank, in a nutshell, what his thought process was; what were his thoughts and beliefs? Eben answered with a question, “Is the world a friendly place?”?? Probably one of the most important questions you can ask yourself, and has really been the most life changing for me, because it really encompasses how you interact with the world. Whenever a loved one passes away, when you break ties with an old friend, or even when the love of your life cheats on you, was all of that just a conspiracy by the universe to make you feel bad? It must be. How can you be going through a divorce and be burying your beloved mother all at the same time? That must be cosmic convergence pointing at you and laughing with her buddies time, money and cellulite saying “Look! I got another one!” Yes, that was dramatic, but dramatic with a purpose. (What can I say? I’m a story teller at heart.)????
As soon as I heard Eben say that, I went the entire day finding myself, in what I perceive ‘undesirable consequences,’ but what took me aback was how I asked myself that question each time; is the world a friendly place? I couldn’t help but smile each time because every single moment that passed where I looked at the world and said, “Hey buddy what???s up? How???s it shakin??? today?” I knew that I was living the life I wanted to live all along. *Ding Ding Ding* Rockets flew, birds soared, (gas)milk was cheaper and all of sudden those gosh darn light bulb jokes made sense; laugh a little, live a little.????
It was one of the most profound changes I think I have ever made and let’s hope it’s not the last one. It was so alleviating to realize that no one was out to get me, so I stopped pointing, staring and crying wolf all the same time. It took too much effort to pursue negative feelings and accuse the universe of a minor setback that I was having with myself. It was my responsibility to fix my circumstances the whole time because I was the only that was capable of doing it, period. No ifs, ands, buts or denial was going to change the life that I had and it certainly wasn’t going to shape that beautiful diamond in the ruff into what I’ve always wanted it to be. The irony of it all was that the uncut diamond I though I saw was really the beautiful 20 billion times infinity karat honker I wanted the whole time.????
The moral of the story is that if you look at the world as a friendly and happy place rather than someone always trying to get back at you, a sense of lightness will develop inside you. There won???t be any need to overreact with little situations and you won???t take the world so seriously. Looking at the world as being good rather than bad let???s you live life.????
So stop being a conspiracy theorist and enjoy yourself gosh darnit!??

Usually when I’m thirsting for knowledge I just pick up a good book and start reading. Lately, I have been doing something a little different. I pick my ‘famous/inspirational-person-of-the-week’ and I look up quotes from them. Today, I’d like to look at Confucius and his words of wisdom.
1) It does not matter how slowly you go so long you do not stop.
Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in getting up every time we do.This to me is a very inspirational quote since I just finished running my first Half-Marathon. When I began to feel discouragement, I would repeat this quote in my head and feel a better and keep on going. He really takes the load off especially if you’re a perfectionist like myself. Being a perfectionist, I always felt I needed to do everything right the first time and if I didn’t I would chastise myself. As I’ve been getting older, I’ve realized that trying your best and enjoying what you do beats the trophy at the end everytime.This quote tells me to keep on going and keep on trying no matter what is happening behind me. No matter how scared or unprepared you feel, venture into that unknown territory. Each time you do, you grow in strength and you begin to grow out of those old insecurities and fears holding you back.
2) What the superior man seeks is in himself, what the small man seeks is in others. I really love this quote because it helps me refocus myself whenever I feel unhappy or depressed. The biggest personal breakthroughs I’ve experienced are the ones where I have solved an inner resistance or insecurity. It is always easier to find temporary security and self-fulfillment through the external environment, but self-fulfillment through your inner environment is where the real riches can be found.
The external environment is temporary, while your internal is ever-lasting. Making peace with your innards are much more satisfying than any goal you accomplish in the outside world. I have always felt a much bigger sense-of-accomplishment from looking inwards than outwards.
Having a stable and grounded inner-self really allows you to enjoy your external environment as well. For once you can enjoy life instead of always looking for something to quench your thirst.
3) When we see men of a contrary character, we should turn inwards and examine ourselves.
When I began to really give this quote some thought, I realized it was true. Whenever I found myself getting frustrated, impatient, or angry at the actions of others, I decided to step back and examine myself for a bit. Doing this allowwed me to see some of my darker, or as I see it as, bad thoughts, actions and characteristics that I realized I was exhibiting in myself. Since I labeled these as ‘bad,’ when I noticed myself do something I felt was bad or see someone else do something I felt was bad, I would get very angry and recoil myself. I try to separate myself from those things, but the more I try to separate, the more I seem to do ‘bad’ things.I have found it is just an unwillingness to accept. Once I began to learn to accept things, actions, etc. of myself and others, I began to not criticize and judge. I began to literally not see those contrary attributes and just enjoyed the person or moment the best I could.Whenever I notice myself point a contrary attribute, now I know that that is something I need to fix within myself and it really becomes a kind of guidance system. It lets me now what I need to be working on next and what I need to keep an eye on.
4) Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart.
Going with all your heart, I have found, really adds enjoyment to your experiences. When you go with your heart, you give yourself drive to do something and makes you more passionate. Once you feel this drive and passion for whatever you’re doing, that’s when you find the joy in the journey. The end result means so much more when you put your whole heart into it. No matter what the results, you realize that you really put your all into it and found a happiness much greater than the satisfaction you feel when you accomplish your goals.
Initially I was scared to do this because I would think, ‘what if I become disappointed? I will become depressed, etc.’ I relate this to the leap of faith concept. I mean, that’s why they call it a leap in the first place. Once I crossed the bridge, I realized I didn’t put myself in harms way because it wasn’t really a bridge I crossed, but rather a meadow. I just couldn’t see the meadow from where I was.
5) [The superior man] acts before he speaks and afterwards speaks according to his actions.
Actions always speak louder than words. In my nutrition class, my professor discussed the best way to teach kids healthy eating habits. He said that the best way to do this is to practice healthy eaitng habits yourself. Monkey see, monkey do. If you don’t like something that’s going on, don’t just talk about it, do it.This reminds me of a commercial I saw a few months ago. It took place in a big metropolitan area. There were people walking down a sidewalk and they came upon a wod of paper on the ground in front of a trash can. Someone points it out and then another person stops to see. Before you know there’s a crowd of people ranting about this piece of paper that never made it to the trash. Before you know it though, someone walks right up to the trash, picks it up and tosses it and goes on their way. The crowd looks at each other bewildered and then go on their way.
Turns out Confucius wasn’t all that bad. He was a very wise man and I have personally learned much from him. I hope that you may have felt a spark or epiphany from reading a few of his quotes that I’ve provided.
